AI assistant connections
Make advanced slides from the chat you already use.
Connect Claude, ChatGPT or another supported MCP client to your pptGPT account. Work on real, editable slides in your templates, with your projects and team’s material behind them.
Connect once, then ask in chat.
01Connect pptGPT in your assistant
In a supported Claude, ChatGPT or other MCP client, add https://pptgpt.app/api/mcp as a remote Streamable HTTP MCP server. Connector availability depends on your assistant’s plan and administrator policies.
02Sign in and authorize your account
Follow the connector’s OAuth sign-in link. A person signs in with Google or Microsoft; a new pptGPT account is created during sign-in if needed. Review and authorize the connection. The assistant acts for that account, not an independent agent account.
03Keep pptGPT open
The assistant works in your own pptGPT tab: keep it open with External assistants enabled (Settings → External assistants) while the assistant works, and watch the changes as they happen.
04Ask for the work in chat
Start a fresh assistant session if its tools have not loaded. Ask it to find a project or deck, create one from a template, or revise slides. Changes appear in pptGPT, and you can review, undo, or continue editing them yourself.
Connection details
- MCP server URL
https://pptgpt.app/api/mcp- Transport
- Streamable HTTP; JSON-RPC POST
- Sign-in
- OAuth with PKCE. User-created access tokens are a fallback for clients without OAuth.
- Claude Desktop
- Download the local extension from Settings → External assistants. The organization must permit local extensions.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user pptgpt https://pptgpt.app/api/mcp
Complete browser sign-in when prompted. Your client may need a new session to load the tools.
Codex
codex mcp add pptgpt --url https://pptgpt.app/api/mcp
Complete browser sign-in when prompted. Your client may need a new session to load the tools.
What the connection can do
- Workspace ownership, permissions, billing and credits stay with the person or organization that authorized the connection.
- Your external assistant’s own reasoning uses its provider’s plan. Tools calling pptGPT’s AI, such as image generation, use your pptGPT credits.
- MCP editing runs in the user’s open pptGPT tab. CV update proposals are confirmed by the user in the assistant’s chat before anything is saved.
- The MCP tool surface includes workspace search, project/deck creation and slide editing, template guidance, pictures, charts, tables and layout review. Use tools/list for the current schemas.
- Billing, organization membership, sharing permissions, file deletion, comments and spreadsheet editing are not exposed as general MCP management tools. Use the app for those workflows.
- A person must authorize access. OAuth client registration identifies a connector; it does not create a user, grant signup credits, or let an anonymous agent act in a workspace.
- Disconnect a browser’s External assistants switch or revoke the connection in Settings → External assistants when access should end.
Try a project, a template and a specific request.
“In pptGPT, find my quarterly review project, create a deck using our template, and turn the project’s report into six slides. Keep the source figures and show me the result.”
